VAVA’s approach focuses on hiring, developing, and retaining the best people from diverse backgrounds. To help our employees stay healthy, so they can put their best foot forward in reaching our goals, VAVA provides private health insurance to all employees, complementing the reliable national healthcare system.
To ensure that all employees are safe in the workplace, VAVA has implemented robust technical and organizational safeguards and procedures. We guarantee proper personal data management, preventing unauthorized date use, disclosure, or breaches.
We recognize the responsibility to respect not only the human rights of VAVA’s people in Portugal but also each of the workers in every stage of our supply chain. Our suppliers are integrated into a network of small factories that co-exist in harmony with their environmental and societal surroundings, as we take pride in ourselves by avoiding mass production and upholding workers rights.
PEOPLE . TRAINING AND EDUCATION
At VAVA, we are strong advocates for the benefits of training and education. Beyond improving performance, investing in our people prepares them for taking on new challenges in the future. With regular developmental initiatives, we can prevent workplace boredom and increase productivity.
Considering this, VAVA is providing a 500-hour training and education program for all the employees. During the year 2022, this training will cover areas such as English lessons, brand management, international marketing, commercial coaching, sustainability-oriented design, and the use of Adobe software.
Additionally, we recognize the importance of education about sustainability issues. In partnership with the Portuguese Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD), we have already carried out 50 hours of group training sessions. We trust that this partnership will make it easier to break down the barriers which stand in the way of embracing a more sustainable and equitable world.
VAVA is also committed to ensuring standards of excellence. With this in mind, we are in the process of obtaining ISO 14 006 certification.
This procedure ensures standards for the quality, safety, and efficiency of products, services, and systems and demonstrates that our eco-design is effectively incorporated as part of an environmental management system. In pursuit of this goal, we have signed up to 75 hours of training and 100 hours of consultancy work to confirm we meet our environmental and sustainability goals.
We aim to deliver initiatives that have an environmental and social impact, to ensure that our journey towards sustainability is as inclusive as possible. Across the globe, VAVA maintains a special and genuine connection with local communities. Intending to bring awareness to this subject, we will, within the scope of THEOREM, continuously share all the projects we are engaged in throughout 2022.
